Big Idea: How do I write a good rhetorical analysis essay?

Reading: MWF Read your own book for 10 minutes. T Th Read an article from Newsela, TheFlipSide.io, or Allsides.com. Your first book review will be assigned on September 27th.




Agenda:
  1. I will check your vocabulary today.
  2. Today I will be collecting the following items:
    1. Your notes about claims and thesis statements.
    2. Your script for your video.
    3. Your video tutorial.
    4. The English Journal for station C from day 1.
    5. The graphic organizer for station C from day 2.
  3. Work on your essay. Bring it to a final draft.
    1. Reread Gandhi's letter.
    2. Add transition words.
    3. Combine sentences. Use one of our sentences patterns.
    4. Fix any grammar and spelling errors.
    5. Add a conclusion
      1. What did Gandhi say?
      2. What was he trying to do in the letter?
      3. What effect does he hope the letter will have?
